A new era for the Cinemax TV channels
HBO Europe has introduced changes to the regional programming line-up of the Cinemax channels.
From 1 September, Cinemax and Cinemax 2 became channels with distinct characters, together offering the best selection of different genres to all film lovers — from hit films with famous directors and actors to award-winning and acclaimed titles from around the world. Each Cinemax channel now has its own distinctive programming, broadcast 24 hours a day, without adverts.
Cinemax – the mainstream film channel
Cinemax brings American and international titles of every genre — dynamic dramas, comedy, action, adventure, horror, crime, fantasy and science fiction. Viewers will also be able to enjoy new series, with an emphasis on premieres of series from Cinemax original production.
On certain days of the week the Cinemax line-up will be dedicated to a specific type of content:
- Sundays feature premieres of major film hits
- Saturday brings premieres of new series
- Friday is dedicated to a selection of cult works and horror films
- Wednesday programming focuses on dramas and thrillers.
Cinemax 2 – the art film channel
Cinemax 2 offers a wide selection of independent film titles from European and international studios, cult films and modern classics. Viewers will enjoy award-winning titles, festival favourites and internationally acclaimed films.
- Saturdays bring the main premiere of the week
- Sundays are dedicated to international films and world cinema
- Mondays feature cult films and modern classics
- Thursday is dedicated to award-winning series.
